1st of July – h.16:00 (CET): Leonardo Barilaro will present the SCRAT Experiment experience as guest of the CASS-E Team in a seminar @ the Cranfield University – UK .

From Cass-e website:

“Interested in finding out the details of our final launch and the science results obtained? All shall be revealed…

We have scheduled a seminar for the 1st of July at 3pm in Cranfield University so we will be very happy to see as many of you as possible there. Please let us know if you will be able to attend (team@cass-e.com) and feel free to invite colleagues you think might be interested.

For those of you who will not be able to make it to Cranfield we will be streaming the seminar live so that you can ask questions in real time. Details of the web stream to follow shortly.”

It has been a great honour for the SCRAT Team to be invited to the new Selection Workshop in Estec (The Netherlands) as former students.

We had a prsentation to the new R/B Programme partecipants, about our experiment, our experience and what to expect from a real student space mission!

It was really nice to see again the Rexus-Bexus crew!

Preliminary report of the experiment results has been completed and will be submitted to ESA very soon.

We can say that 99 thrusts have been detected and measured by SCRAT during the ascent phase of the flight!

This morning the gondola which carried SCRAT through the stratoshpere has been brought back to Esrange Space Center. It seems that the landing caused some damages to our experiment. Further anlaysis will tell us more about the actual status of SCRAT.

We just had the time of taking some pictures of the gondola before leaving with the 10:30 bus from the Space Center… See you back in Italy SCRAT!

At 7.26 the gondola has been cut-off from the balloon and is now falling down. In a few minutes the gondola will touch the Finnish ground!
